Your First Visit
Your first visit to any healthcare provider - whether a Doctor, Dentist or other professional - can feel overwhelming. It's normal to wonder what will happen. This page walks you through your appointment so you know what to expect and can come feeling calm and prepared.
Initial Consultation & Assessment
We’ll begin with a relaxed conversation about:
-
What’s been bothering you
-
How long it’s been going on
-
Your general health
-
Your lifestyle and daily demands
This helps me understand not just your symptoms, but what’s important to you.
If you’re attending for Chiropractic or Sports Massage, we’ll then carry out a physical assessment to see how your body moves and functions.
If you’re attending for Hypnotherapy + Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, the session will focus more on understanding patterns, triggers, goals, and what you’d like to change.
I’ll explain everything clearly in plain language. If treatment is appropriate, we’ll agree on a plan tailored to you.
There is never any obligation to continue beyond the first visit — your care is always your choice.
Preparing For Your Appointment
A little preparation helps us make the most of your time.
Registration Form
After booking, you’ll receive a short health history and registration form by email. This can be completed securely through the online patient portal and usually takes around 20 minutes.
Why this matters:
It allows me to understand your background in advance so we can focus fully on your assessment and plan.
Please try to complete this before your appointment.
If you have any difficulties — or would prefer another way to provide the information — just call the clinic and we’ll find a solution that works for you.
What to Wear
(Chiropractic & Sports Massage only)
For physical treatments, I may need to assess movement and access certain areas of your body. Wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing (such as a sports top, t-shirt, or gym wear) usually allows this to be done easily without needing to change.
Clothing that allows easy movement and access to the area being treated helps the appointment run smoothly and makes the assessment more efficient.
If you prefer, you are also welcome to bring:
-
A pair of shorts
-
A vest top
A gown can always be provided if you would feel more comfortable.
(Hypnotherapy and CBT sessions do not require any specific clothing.)
Access & Arrival
The clinic is located within a home, with the treatment room on the ground floor.
-
If parking nearby, please be mindful of neighbours and driveways.
-
When you arrive, you’re welcome to walk through the porch and take a seat on the bench in the entrance hall.
Please note: There is not a wheelchair-accessible toilet on site.
If you have specific mobility or accessibility needs, I encourage you to call ahead so we can discuss options — or, if appropriate, I can recommend an alternative clinic better suited to your requirements.
